An Energy Warning was issued in response to recent heat waves. The warning comes for The New York Independent System Operation a group that monitors the reliability of the state's power system. North Country Assemblyman, Matt Simpson, said I’ve long warned that New York’s aggressive push for electrification under the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act prioritizes green ideology over energy security. Simpson said Gov. Hochul’s plea to set air conditioners to 76°F and avoid appliance use underscores our how fragile our electric grid’s is.
