Hiker Warning

The Department of Environmental Conservation is again warning hikers to avoid the ADK backcountry.

The public is again being asked to consider alternative plans or at least exercise an abundance of caution when recreating in the Adirondack backcountry areas.  ENCON reports that Key winter routes are now impassable due to washed out bridges, and thawed water crossings. DEC staff have encountered damage to high water bridge crossings, and snow slides on steep terrain.
