The Clinton County Sheriff's office has released the cause of death of an inmate who died at the county jail.
The Sheriff’s Department has reported that Margo Diaz, 46, of Plattsburgh died of natural causes. In a release Chief Deputy Major Nicholas Leon said specifically the cause of death was reported by Medical Examiner, Dr. D Bell, as Bacterial Endocarditis of the tricuspid valve. The statement also said Sheriff Favro met with the family of Diaz at the Sheriff’s Office and answered basic questions. The Sheriff’s department reports that Margo Diaz was being held on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear in court. This is an ongoing investigation involving the State Attorney General’s office.
