Next Gen 9-1-1 Funding

Local county governments received money to help prepare for the implementation of NG911.

Clinton County received just over $1.5 Million while Essex and Franklin counties received nearly $1.3 Million.  The grant program is specifically intended to support call handling equipment needed for agencies to accept Next Generation 9-1-1 calls in accordance with the National Emergency Number Association.  Eligible counties received a base amount of $1 million in funding and the remaining funds were allocated based on population.
