The Opportunities in Organic Act has been reintroduced in the U.S. Senate to ease transition to organic farming.
Legislation designed to help farmers and other agricultural producers transition to organic practices was reintroduced in the U.S. Senate by Kirsten Gillibrand and several other lawmakers. The Opportunities in Organic Act helps mitigate challenges faced when transitioning to organics by modernizing USDA’s reimbursements for organic certification and expanding the department’s available expertise for organic agriculture.
