The State Comptroller's office keeps track of schools with fiscal stress and the North Country is 3rd on the list.
The North Country region ranks number three on a list of schools under fiscal stress according to the NY State Comptroller’s Fiscal Stress Monitoring System. Regionally, Mohawk Valley has the highest percentage of school districts with a stress designation followed by Central NY and then the North County as reported by the state Comptroller’s office. Thirty-one school districts showed some level of fiscal stress for the school fiscal year ending June 30. That’s up from 22 districts the prior year.
