State of Emergency

Drought conditions have caused the Supervisor of Moriah to issue a local state of emergency.

Moriah Supervisor Matt Brassard signed a proclamation of a local state of emergency due to a critical situation at the Moriah water reservoir due to dry conditions an online statement read.  Brassard indicated that based on current weather data he expects to extend the ban every 5 days for the next month.  The statement said the declaration and accompanying water use restrictions are necessary to protect the public health and safety of the Town of Moriah.
