Facing a must-win game, the Lyon Mountain Miners rode the arm of D.J. Barber and a big 5-run third inning to blank the Fourth Ward Cardinals 5-0 in Game 2 of the CVBL championship series. In the deciding third game, SUNY Plattsburgh rising senior Zach Rainville returned the favor as he hurled seven innings of two-hit ball as the Cardinals held on for a 3-2 win and earned their 7th straight CVBL playoff title. Trenton Griffiths was named the playoff MVP for the Fourth Ward.
