Altona Field Days Honor America’s 250th Anniversary

Altona’s Volunteer Fire Department drew crowds for its third annual Field Days and parade at Feinberg Recreation Park. The two-day celebration featured music, food, games, a kickball tournament and historic displays. The event also honored seven Revolutionary War veterans who later settled in Altona as part of the town’s America 250 observance.

About 30,000 people attended last year.

    Crowds packed Plattsburgh City Beach for the 49th annual Mayor’s Cup Festival. Events included sailboat races, a 5K run and walk, live music, food trucks, volleyball, a sandcastle contest and a children’s race. Organizers said sunny skies and light winds provided ideal conditions along Lake Champlain.

  • Royal Air Force Red Arrows Fly Over Lake Champlain

    The Royal Air Force Red Arrows made a surprise appearance over the Burlington area Monday morning. The bright red jets flew above Lake Champlain and Burlington International Airport, leaving trails of red, white and blue smoke. The British military demonstration team was visiting Beta Technologies and gave residents an unexpected air show during the stop.
