Mayor’s Cup Festival Draws Crowds to City Beach

Crowds packed Plattsburgh City Beach for the 49th annual Mayor’s Cup Festival. Events included sailboat races, a 5K run and walk, live music, food trucks, volleyball, a sandcastle contest and a children’s race. Organizers said sunny skies and light winds provided ideal conditions along Lake Champlain.

Clinton County Fair Expects Larger Crowds

The 71st Clinton County Fair is underway in Morrisonville, with organizers expecting as many as 40,000 visitors during the six-day event. Attractions include concerts, a tractor pull, demolition derby, carnival rides, animals and sea lion shows. Fair officials say advance sales surged as the forecast improved. About 30,000 people attended last year.
Royal Air Force Red Arrows Fly Over Lake Champlain

The Royal Air Force Red Arrows made a surprise appearance over the Burlington area Monday morning. The bright red jets flew above Lake Champlain and Burlington International Airport, leaving trails of red, white and blue smoke. The British military demonstration team was visiting Beta Technologies and gave residents an unexpected air show during the stop.
