Construction on the new Long Building at the North Elba Showgrounds is nearing completion ahead of next month’s Lake Placid Horse Show. Town officials say the facility should be ready for use by June 15th, although some finishing work will continue into the fall. The project includes new restrooms, a commercial kitchen, and emergency shelter capabilities. Rising construction costs are said to have pushed the project price to more than 9-point-6 million dollars.
