The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism has launched a new region-wide event calendar designed to help organizations, businesses and communities coordinate schedules. The free online resource allows users to view and submit events, helping planners avoid conflicts, improve promotion efforts and better prepare for visitor traffic throughout the Adirondack region.

Applications are due July 31, with funding available to municipalities and certain public entities across the state.

  • Plattsburgh Man Charged With DWI

    A 35 year old Plattsburgh man is facing drunken driving charges following a traffic stop in the City of Plattsburgh. Clinton County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Sean Kelly shortly after midnight last Thursday. Authorities allege Kelly was driving while intoxicated and speeding. He was released with appearance tickets.

  • Invasive Species Awareness Week Underway

    New York’s 13th annual Invasive Species Awareness Week runs through June 14. Free events across the state include webinars, workshops, hikes, and paddles aimed at educating residents about invasive plants, insects, animals, and diseases. Officials say public awareness is key to protecting forests, waterways, agriculture, and native wildlife from harmful species.
