Cases of respiratory illness, such as the flu, are starting to decrease the Essex County Health dept. reports.
16 Flu cases, 8 COVID cases and 4 RSV cases were reported in Essex County during the first week of February. That’s a decrease from the previous week. The health department warns that while cases have decreased, respiratory illnesses can continue to circulate through May. Officials at the department suggest spending more time outside as temperatures start to rise above the freezing point. They say being outdoors reduces time spent in enclosed spaces where germs and allergens circulate.
