The annual DEC youth turkey hunting weekend will take place this weekend in the North Country.
The youth turkey hunt, for junior hunters between the age of 12 and 15, is open across upstate New York. To be eligible youth participants must hold a hunting license and a turkey permit. Shooting hours are from one-half hour before sunrise to noon and all wild turkey hunting regulations remain in effect. The bag limit for the youth weekend is one bearded bird.
