AARP Urges Heat Safety for Older New Yorkers

AARP New York is urging older adults to take extra precautions as dangerous heat continues through the holiday weekend. The group recommends staying hydrated, spending time in air-conditioned locations, avoiding outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, and checking regularly on older family members, friends, and neighbors.

37 year old Chelsey L. McDonough of Rouses Point faces misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief, and petit larceny following a reported domestic dispute. Hydrant Flushing Begins Monday in Plattsburgh

The City of Plattsburgh will begin flushing fire hydrants Monday throughout the city. Work will take place weekdays from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. until the system is complete. Residents may notice cloudy or rust-colored water and are urged to avoid washing clothes or bathing while flushing is underway.
