• Former Plattsburgh Pitcher Transfers to Rutgers

  Former Plattsburgh High standout Warren Miller is heading to Division I baseball after transferring from Cortland to Rutgers University. The 2024 graduate earned SUNYAC Pitcher of the Year honors this past season after posting a 2.88 ERA and 72 strikeouts, saying the move fulfills a longtime goal of competing at the highest collegiate level.

  Lake Champlain will host a full slate of major summer events beginning July 18, including several national bass fishing tournaments and the return of East Coast Watercross July 31st through August 2nd.   37 year old Chelsey L. McDonough of Rouses Point faces misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief, and petit larceny following a reported domestic dispute. • Hydrant Flushing Begins Monday in Plattsburgh

  The City of Plattsburgh will begin flushing fire hydrants Monday throughout the city. Work will take place weekdays from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. until the system is complete. Residents may notice cloudy or rust-colored water and are urged to avoid washing clothes or bathing while flushing is underway.

  AARP New York is urging older adults to take extra precautions as dangerous heat continues through the holiday weekend.
