23 year old Casey Oakes of Akwesasne has pleaded guilty for his role in a cocaine trafficking conspiracy. Federal prosecutors say he admitted shipping cocaine across the St. Lawrence River into Canada in 2024. Homeland Security investigators intercepted one of those packages. Oakes entered his guilty plea in August, and prosecutors announced it Monday. Sentencing is scheduled for December 21. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and a fine of up to 10 million dollars.
