Nine students have completed the North Country Welding Academy at Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh. The three-week program combines hands-on welding instruction with safety training, blueprint reading and equipment troubleshooting. It’s a partnership between the college’s Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and the North Country Chamber of Commerce, aimed at helping employers fill skilled jobs. At least four more sessions are planned over the next 10 months. The next class begins October 19.
