The Clinton County District Attorney’s Office says Shawn Gushlaw has been sentenced to 3 to 6 years in state prison following convictions tied to two domestic violence incidents in 2025. Prosecutors say Gushlaw strangled a woman into unconsciousness during one attack, threatened to kill her and responding officers, and later violated an order of protection by contacting the victim again. Gushlaw pleaded guilty to attempted assault and aggravated family offense charges. A judge also issued a full stay-away order of protection for the victim.
