The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is urging residents to stay safe during the summer season by taking precautions against heat illness, foodborne sickness, and water dangers. Health experts recommend drinking plenty of water, avoiding strenuous activity during peak heat, and never leaving children or pets in parked vehicles. People are also being reminded to keep foods properly chilled during cookouts and to wear life jackets while boating or swimming in cold water conditions.
